Enthusiasm is higher for President Donald Trump this election cycle than it was in the 2016 presidential election, despite polling data that favors presumptive Democrat nominee Joe Biden in several national polls, Republican National Committee Chairperson Ronna McDaniel claimed Monday.

Biden, however, has an “enthusiasm” issue, McDaniel told Fox News’ “Fox and Friends.” “I’m traveling the country, I’ve seen it through our volunteers. I’ve seen it through our donations,” McDaniel said.

According to Fox News polls, Biden is ahead of Trump in battleground states Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Minnesota.

Biden is ahead among women, non-white voters, and suburban voters, while Trump’s lead among male and white voters is lagging.

According to the Real Clear Politics overall national polling average, Biden is leading Trump by 9.1 percentage points.

However, McDaniel said Trump is polling behind Biden because “Republicans are not responding to the polls.”

“There was a Cato Institute survey that showed that 62 percent of Americans are not going to share their political beliefs anymore because of the situation we have in this count
